Things to Think About Before Your Initial Personal Training Consultation
Setting goals is important in reaching your ideal fitness level, but it's only one small part of the overall health equation that will help you get there.
Give some thought to gaining clarity on your over-arching health and fitness goals. Then together we can build mutually agreeable smaller, measurable, and achievable goals that we can work toward as part of that one overall fitness goal.
For instance, training for a 5k run in the near future might be a safe, measurable, and achievable goal to work towards, as well as being able to keep up with the kids or grand kids in an active play environment. Both are easier to achieve when getting help from a professional, and both greatly improve quality of life. These are the type of goals we want you to be thinking about prior. Paint a clear picture of the life and activity level you want us to help you work towards.
Build your list of previous injuries and current medications, exercise likes and dislikes, previous exercise and nutrition habits, other health professionals you've worked with to supplement your health goals (massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor, physical therapists, nutritionist, dietitians, etc), current stress levels and sleep habits, current work schedule, as well as current or previous food logs,
You may also have other barriers to health and wellness that you've identified that we need to talk through as we build your plan.
Keep in mind, our intake will be much more extensive should we decide to work together, but this will give you some idea of the things to think about before we have our first talk.
Finally, if you do travel or can't workout together with us on a regular basis, we can build you a portable plan, perfect for travel or working out from home.
