The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back.
Rock Steady Boxing, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum.
As the Rock Steady website says, "In our gym, exercises are largely adapted from boxing drills. Boxers condition for optimal agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork and overall strength to defend against and overcome opponents. At RSB, Parkinson’s disease is the opponent. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are rigorous and intended to extend the perceived capabilities of the participant."
We are part of the Rock Steady--Rocktown team and we are so grateful to be able to provide our community with such a valuable and well received exercise program specifically designed for those fighting Parkinson's disease.
The Adventure Begins
Our bodies are designed to move and the more we keep moving, the longer we keep moving.
